The GSS STEAM HQ is a place where all things Science, Technologies, Engineering, Art and Mathematics can occur for students and educators alike.

GSS's STEAM HQ PD Team ran teacher professional development for pre-service and in-service teachers in the Ipswich and surrounding areas in 2019, with over one hundred teachers attending. These PDs included a digital technologies focus with different sessions using LEGO WEDO 2.0, Bee-Bots, Micro:bit, Makey Makey and Scratch as well as eLearning PDs using Plickers, Seesaw and Book Creator. These professional developments aimed to up-skill teachers in the use of various technologies linked to the Australian Curriculum's Digital Technologies, ICT cross curriculum priorities and eLearning pedagogies.

In 2019 the Digital Technologies PDs would not have been possible without the Google CS Educator PD grant. This grant afforded Goodna State School and The STEAM HQ much more than funds, bringing with it a great wealth of knowledge, networking and partnerships. We are excited to announce that Goodna State School has recieved this grant again in 2020!

For information on past and future professional development opportunities please check out our Eventbrite Page.

Many thanks– I really enjoyed it – got a much better understanding of how these cute little devices can be used in the classroom and just how relevant they are to create a learning environment that challenges and involves children. Vicki (Teacher, Goodna State School)

Thank you again for the amazing PD. I have already printed off lots of Bee-Bot resources from Twinkl and can't wait to use with my class. – Julie  (Year 3 Teacher, Fernbrook State School)

Thank you for inspiring me! Is it possible to get some of the slides from the PD that highlight the possibilities with my school please? Thanks again! - Amanda (2/3 Teacher, Darra State School)
