Goodna State School has a range of excellent facilities which provide a myriad of exceptional and unique learning opportunities for all students.
Community hall
Our newly opened Community hall has fully-sized basketball court, high quality sound and light systems, kitchen and toilet facilities, and a full production stage. It is the perfect venue for 'Excellence' in 'Basketball' program, musical and dramatic productions, assemblies, playgroup on Wednesday mornings and Out of school hours care.
The community hall is a magnificent addition to our school, and is available for hire by community members.Conditions are negotiated with the Principal and the Business services manager who can be contacted at the office.
Swimming pool
The school pool is the focal point of our summer sports program and annual swimming carnivals. All students from prep to year 3 participate in ‘learn to swim’ lessons, and years 4 to 7 participate in a ‘swim and survive’ program in terms one and four as an integral part of health and physical education lessons. This program also includes aquatic sports such as water polo and synchronised swimming.
Resource library
This centre is a vital resource area for students, staff and the wider school community. There are several ‘ezones’ for learning, including spaces to research, use a computer in the various learning hubs and a space to just relax in a beanbag to read a book. The Computer club also meets in the library lab on Wednesdays at second break.
